John Moore (1907-1967) was a conservationist, naturalist and prolific author, writing primarily about the countryside surrounding him. His best selling trilogy of the Tewksbury area - Portrait of Elmbury, Brensham Village and The Blue Field - preceded a series of novels and what he called 'country-contentments'.
