Seventeen-year-old Irene Munro was murdered on an Eastbourne beach in 1920, the first of two murders known as The Crumbles.  This is the first full length study of her life and the crime which ended it, posing some searching and uncomfortable questions regarding police and press practices at the time but also regarding fate and individual responsibility.
