90pp, with tissue-guarded frontispiece and many engraved illustrations in text. Decorative green cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering and decorations front and spine. All edge gilt. 4to. Cloth a little worn, gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, with small area of scuffed loss towards the head of the spine. Gift inscription, dated 1885, inked on the front free endpaper; endpapers and prelims spotted. The tissue-guard over the frontispiece is browned and brittled, with some edge damaged, which has coloured the gutter ahead of the title page. A couple of strained but holding gutters else neat, clean and bright.
