A memoir of the Frank Ezra Adcock (died 1968), native of Leicester and classical historian, sometime lecturer in the classics and dean and vice-principal of King's College, Cambridge, Emeritus Professor of Ancient History. In addition to his academic work - which extended to a series of BBC broadcasts, Adcock served as part of the Intelligence Division of the Royal Navy in the First World War and as a cryptographer at Bletchley Park during the Second World War.
