Text in French. 36pp stapled brochure, richly illustrated in colour and black and white, in black velvet covers with gilt lettering and decorations.  Folio.  Covers are a little rubbed and edge worn, some oxidisation of staples.  Internally the pages are clean and bright but show a little compression waviness, especially the last leaf.

A luxury souvenir brochure issued to mark the centenary show at the iconic Folies Bergere, with many stunning, large photographic stills from the show.  The Folies Bergere (originally the Folies Trevise) was founded in Paris, opening its doors for the first time in May 1869 as a light entertainment house with a repertoire including operettas, comic opera, popular songs and gymnastics.  Its centenary show was held in 1969, marking a full century of cabaret music hall entertainment in Paris and, as such, a milestone in the history of dance and variety entertainment.
