Covers are worn and faded, a rubbed and rounded, with some chipping on corners and spine ends, slightly soiled and shelf worn. Text block edges a little toned. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight.
A wonderful exploration of the history of British costume and dress from pre-historic times to the late 19th century, generously illustrated (there are for instance, twelve different styles of bodice from the time of Charles I shown), with the last forty or so pages devoted to patterns for authentically recreating styles of the past.
