This copy from the library of Turkish-born artist Anita Rambonnet-Da Ponte 1895-1955), with her bookplate on the front paste down. One the first significant assessment of modernism in art from controversial art critic, Carl Einstein (also known as Savine Ree Urian (1885-1940). Sculptor Ernesto de Fiori is said to have slammed a copy of this heavy volume over Einstein's head because he was described as 'decently mediocre'. Beautiful illustrations.
