Later in life, A L Rowse spent much time in California, becoming well acquainted with the American people.  Brown Buck is a loving tribute to the Huntington Library, where he solved the problems of Shakespeare's sonnets - all except for the identity of the Dark Lady, that discovery was awaiting him in the Bodleian Library in Oxford when he returned to the UK.  A story of animals at the Huntington Library, told for children of all ages.
