First edition, first impression.  x, 304pp.  Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine.  8vo.  Volume has a heavy bump to the head of the spine, depressing the cloth and minorly affecting a few pages else neat and clean, tight and bright, crisp and square throughout.  In its original glossy dust jacket, not price clipped, a little bumped on extreme edges.  Dust wrapper now protected in an archival-quality Mylar sleeve, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. The Mylar sleeve itself is a little shelf worn.

Andrew Blick, lecturer in history at King's College, London, examines the development of the United Kingdom's constitution from Ethelbert's law code to late 20th century European integration and devolution and then sets forth the case for and against constitutional codification and a written constitution for the UK.
