Disbound (front and rear boards absent, backstrip remaining, holding leaves together as a single text block).  Exposed leaves tanned and soiled, with some faint and occasional spotting throughout.  Text block edges toned and damage at page edges.  Suitable for rebinding and reference.  

Stephen Switzer was an English gardener (1682-1745), often credited as the father of the English landscape garden.  This, the last of a number of books on aspects of naturalist gardening, largely considers hydraulics and water supplies for large gardens, an important development in water gardens, first published in 1729.
