Covers are heavily worn and moderately spotting and toned, rubbed all round edges with scuffing at rounded corners and ends of a chipped spine. Some oxidization around staples. Internally some softening of page ends and a few minor signs of handling else neat, clean and tight.
William Wharton was a British Admiral, and Hydrographer of the Royal Navy. His Short History of HMS Victory was first published in 1872. This early reissue includes additional particulars of the battle of Trafalgar and the death of Admiral Lord Nelson, first included in the 1904 reissue revised by Wharton shortly before his death in 1905.
