A collection of photographs taken in Peking in the late 1930s and early 1940s, showing the day to day life of Peking's people at work and enjoying leisure time. The photographer, Hedda Morrison, left Nazi Germany in 1933 to take charge of a photography studio in Peking and her architectural studies provide valuable evidence of the buildings and monuments of Peking that have since changed or disappeared.
