Tim Lloyd was aged just 22, a Lieutenant serving in the Rifle Brigade, when he was killed in action  near Florence in Northern Italy in 1944.  The letters he wrote to his mother, from the front line but also beforehand, from his training and from his wild days in London, are revealing.
